Jeffrey Lanz, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Jeffrey Lanz, our Chief of Staff, grew up in Litchfield and currently resides in Akron, Ohio. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Akron and earned a DVM degree from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining the Turkeyfoot Family Pet Center team, Dr. Lanz practiced in Apple Creek, Litchfield, and Kent, Ohio. His special interests include feline medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Outside of work, Dr. Lanz enjoys spending time with his family, sports, games, camping, hiking, traveling, and attending church activities. He also shares his home with one dog and three cats.
Ethan Horst, DVM
Dr. Ethan Horst is originally from West Salem and currently resides in Barberton, Ohio. He received an undergraduate degree from Eastern Mennonite University and earned a DVM degree from the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Horst spent his clinical year at The Ohio State University and has a MS degree in Biology from James Madison University.
Before coming on board with Turkeyfoot Family Pet Center, Dr. Horst practiced in Sugarcreek and Cleveland, Ohio. He has a special interest in exotic medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Horst enjoys CrossFit and cycling. He also cares for two cats, one of which he adopted while living on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts and has several planted aquariums with an assortment of tropical fish.
Marilyn M. McCort DVM
Dr. Marilyn M. McCort grew up in Barberton and currently resides Doylestown, Ohio. She received an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned her DVM degree from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining the Turkeyfoot Family Pet Center team, Dr. McCort practiced at Sigler Animal Hospital and All Creatures Veterinary Clinic and Lodge in Ohio and provided relief work at Tender Loving Care Veterinary Hospital, Elm Ridge Animal Hospital, and VIP vaccine clinics throughout Ohio. Her special interests include internal medicine, surgery, animal behavior, husbandry, and realizing that good physical health leads to excellent behavioral health.
Outside of work, Dr. McCort enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, and nature photography. She and her husband love traveling to various exotic animal experiences and working with the people who care for these animals. These include places like zoos, nature preserves, exotic and domestic animal rescues, etc. She also cares for dogs, cats, parrots, a bearded dragon, a miniature horse, and a donkey on their 11-acre farm.
Dr. McCort promises to care for your pets as if they were her own. She resolves to keep up with the latest knowledge and techniques in the practice of veterinary medicine.
